Ari Jacob returns to Melbourne from Tel Aviv, with new music and experiences to share. This show is a celebration of two new releases from Ari’s most recent project, a solo album entitled ‘AS/IS’. He will also play some Israeli favourites, and some songs from his band ‘Shayari’, which toured Australia over a year ago, just before the world as we know it was transformed. Ari will be joined on the stage by beautiful and talented old friends from his life in Melbourne. A little about the album below:
AS/ IS
The place where I get lost, is on the bridge between the inside and the outside. People trigger emotions, opportunities trigger fantasies, and then ideas manifest experiences, and sensations catalyse actions. In and out, alone and together, my bedroom and a crowded cafe. The last year has both blurred and somehow accentuated this bridge between the internal world, and that which is outside of me. It taught me that relationships are reflections of my inner dialogue, and that my inner dialogue will never truly evolve if it doesn’t have a maze of mirrors to get lost in. I have been building this bridge, one plank at a time, laying foundations strong enough to let me walk with grace, whenever I please, between these two dimensions. I think the feeling I’ve been searching for is the freedom of authenticity, whether or not I am being seen. And every now and then, I get a glimpse of that freedom, not in knowing, but in total surrender to the darkness of faith, that everything is completely and absolutely okay, if not perfect, as is.
