Margie Lou Dyer Quintet

The Margie Lou Dyer Quintet has been a regular feature of the Melbourne jazz scene for the last 10 years and has a strong and loyal following.

“Our music is the sum of its parts and strives to have the energy and passion that makes the audience want to clap or stomp in moments of joy”.

The band consists of Eugene Ball (Trumpet), Cam Robbins (Clarinet), Howard Cairns (Double Bass), Hayley Miro (Washboard), and Margie Lou Dyer (Piano / Vocals).

All the members of this ensemble pay homage to the traditions of New Orleans, some of the great blues and gospel singers and significant exponents of the art form, such as Louis Armstrong, Jelly Roll Morton and Duke Ellington.
