"The first feature from writer/director Iris Kaltenbäck suggests she’s a talent to watch." – Screen Daily
A lonely Parisian woman takes an obsessive interest in her best friend’s infant daughter in writer-director Iris Kaltenbäck’s engrossing psychological thriller.
Lydia is a dedicated midwife highly invested in her career but she slowly begins to lose control of her life after a particularly demoralising breakup. When her best friend Salomé asks for support through her pregnancy, Lydia jumps at the chance to lend a hand - but are there other motivations at play? A brief fling and a fateful one-night stand with bus driver Milos (played sympathetically by Alexis Maneti), sends Lydia into a spiral of lies and deception that will turn everyone’s life upside down.
A tense and morally complex thriller, grounded by a compelling and unnerving performance from Hafsia Herzi as Lydia.
Winner of the SACD Award at Cannes Film Festival and nominated for the Critic's Week Grand Prize.
