“A lovely, stubbornly idiosyncratic fable of aspiration and survival.” — The New Yorker

Nahuel lives with his father in a fishing town, yet he has a deep distrust of the sea. One day, Nahuel finds a magical book that seems to be the solution to this problem, but instead it attracts the attention of a dark wizard who kidnaps his father.
Nahuel sets out on a fantastic adventure to rescue his Dad that forces him to face his deepest fears. During his journey he meets many wonderful creatures – inspired by Indigenous Mapuche mythology and lore – and discovers that some are friends and some are foes.
