Musical theatre fans are in for a very special treat. Coming to cinemas across Australia on Saturday 31 March and Sunday 1 April is a unique and outstanding production of Stephen Sondheim's Company, one with a brilliant ensemble cast that includes some of the hottest names from American stage and TV circles. Staged by the world-famous New York Philharmonic, Company is captured live from the Avery Fisher Hall at the Lincoln Center, New York in 2011 and is now screening in cinemas outside the US for the first time. The original production of Sondheim’s Company won 6 Tony Awards when it first opened in 1970.

This high definition and surround sound screening of Sondheim’s Company features leading man Neil Patrick Harris, the American stage and screen star who plays the pivotal role of Robert. An Emmy-winning actor who received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in September, Harris is well-known to Australian television audiences from his role as Barney in How I Met Your Mother .

Company's plot revolves around Robert – a single man unable to commit fully to a steady relationship, let alone marriage – the five married couples who are his best friends, and his three girlfriends. Presented as a series of short vignettes linked by a celebration for Robert's 35th birthday, songs include Being Alive, Side by Side, The Ladies Who Lunch, Getting Married Today and Company.
